Yvonne Macdonald was born and raised in London England and came to the USA in 1965. She is a Graduate of the Royal College of Music in London. Mrs. Macdonald’s teaching experience includes:
- Three years as head of the Junior School Music Department at the Perse School for Girls, Cambridge, England.
- Thirty years with the West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District, where she was District Music co-Coordinator, General music teacher and choir director.
- One year as an Adjunct instructor for Elementary Education at Westminster Choir College of Rider University. Presently she is Conductor of the Concino and Schola Children Choirs at the Westminster Conservatory.
Yvonne has worked with the Youth choir program at the Princeton United Methodist Church since 1972. She currently holds the position of Director of Youth Choirs. Mrs. Macdonald was the founder of the church's Handbell Choir and director for 8 years.
In Cambridge she sang in a performance of the Monteverdi Vespers with King’s College Choir and played Oboe in a performance of Handel’s Water Music with original orchestration. In 1997 she prepared the West Windsor-Plainsboro Upper Elementary School Choir for a National Children’s Choir concert in Carnegie Hall with Henry Leck. At Westminster, her Concino Choir sings annually with the Children’s Cantus Concert Choir and the Westminster Conservatory Orchestra in the Richardson Auditorium of Princeton University.

At Princeton United Methodist Church Mrs. Macdonald conducts a graded program of five choirs. She directs the Annual Church School pageant, and in addition to singing in Worship services, the Youth Choirs present an annual musical. Some past presentations include Benjamin Britten’s ‘Noye’s Fludde’, Stephen Schwartz’s ‘Godspell’ and Anthony Lloyd Weber’s ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’.
